The Role
We are looking for a Principal Systems Analyst to join our Digital Platforms Technology team. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, QA, Architects, and business stakeholders to analyze requirements, define solutions, and successfully deliver high-impact digital experiences.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical thinking, execution discipline, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives while staying hands-on with systems analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering teams, architects, and product owners to define and document end-to-end technical solutions for web, mobile, API, and cloud-native applications.
- Perform deep technical analysis of application architectures, APIs, microservices, data models, integrations, and system dependencies.
- Create and maintain technical specifications including sequence diagrams, system flows, interface contracts, data mappings, and integration designs.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical requirements and implementation-ready user stories.
- Analyze REST APIs using tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, and validate request/response payloads.
- Define and document system integration patterns, event-driven architectures, security controls, and non-functional requirements.
- Work hands-on with engineering teams to troubleshoot production issues, analyze logs, identify root causes, and drive resolution.
- Perform SQL-based data analysis and validation across applications, databases, and downstream systems.
- Review application designs for scalability, resiliency, performance, observability, and security compliance.
- Support CI/CD, release implementation, environment validation, and production readiness activities.
- Collaborate with architects and developers to modernize legacy platforms and enable cloud adoption initiatives.
- Act as the technical liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams while maintaining a strong focus on solution delivery.
- Participate in defect triage, RCA, validation, and On-call production support
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to understand complex distributed platforms and integrations.
- Ability to independently drive technical analysis from requirements through implementation.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge in analyzing and designing APIs & microservices architectures.
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, .NET, Python, JavaScript, or similar modern application technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP including cloud-native application patterns.
- Strong understanding of authentication and security standards including OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, SSO, and XSRF/CSRF protections.
- Experience using tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, Splunk, Dynatrace, Kibana, Grafana, or similar monitoring platforms.
- Ability to read application code, analyze logs, and collaborate effectively during debugging sessions.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent DevOps tooling.
- Knowledge of performance, scalability, resiliency, and observability best practices.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting large-scale digital platforms in financial services or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience with Agile product delivery, domain-driven design, and modern software engineering practices.
- Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
The Team
Our Digital Platforms Technology team designs, develops, and supports a suite of digital products and services focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
